Event Design Trends 2010

This week marked the much-anticipated annual design competition hosted by the Atlanta chapter of NACE. Not only is the showdown a feast of design eye candy, it was a great perspective through which I could examine how Artstar has grown since I first attended NACE last year. Here are the results of the blood (as you'll see below), sweat, and tears from so many designers who love what they do and worked it out in grand style.

A table scape made entirely of paper flowers by my own personal partner in crime and cooking, Mr. Rory Moon and his colleagues Eva and Heather at Tulip Blooming Creations:

This designer of this table created it in honor of her parents' 47th wedding anniversary, which fell on the date of the competition. I love the muted, vintage color palette.

Sweet Sensations designed this winning cake, as inspired by the wedding dress.

A lemon scape shows off this season's "it" color, complimented by ghost chairs. Designed by a legendary event:

"Rebel without a Groom" cake also by legendary-

Twilight, cleverly and beautifully brought to the dinner table by Your Event Solution. This table placed second overall in the competition.

The outdoors came inside and took first place with this table by Event Design Group. No detail was overlooked, I know because the design team and I sat here for awhile at the end of the party and I had the wonderful opportunity to feel the atmosphere Kim created.

And of course, a toast was in order at the winning table. 'Til next year!
