I first met Shannon and Steve on the dance floor of her friend's wedding reception. Over the buzz of the reception, and while in Steve's arms, Shannon told me how she loved the joyous essence I always hope to instill in photographs, and wouldn't I please come to NJ to photograph her wedding in a few years? Well, of course! By the end of her own wedding day, she and Steve felt like long-time friends to me, people I am proud to know and happy for them that they have each other.
Shannon got ready at her grandmother's house, which to my mind was a story-book grandmother's house, complete with antiques and heirlooms.
Shannon's shy rescue dog, Dixie, wasn't sure what to think of all the people, the camera, and the wedding dress (and the veil).
Shannon's lovely little sister offers a kiss...
...while little brother gets help from Dad.
I love that both Shannon's mother and step-mother are fussing over her dad. Everyone in her family and Steve's that I observed or worked with was incredibly kind and loving to one another, it was heart-warming to be surrounded by them for a day.
Shannon's dress and her bridesmaids' dresses were all lovingly handmade by a close relative.
Steve works on his handsome-ness. He didn't have to do much.
One of my absolute favorite images by Georgi, who came in from Philly to shoot with me.
The ceremony begins at St. Catherine of Siena in Cedar Grove.
Two images beautifully lit and captured by Georgi.
Reception details at Brooklake Country Club.
Shannon's mom crying- I think she grabbed the nearest item to wipe away her tears, which happened to be a dinner napkin. Love it!
You would probably never guess that I grabbed this parting shot at 3:15 am, after spending a few hours relaxing with Shannon and Steve and their friends. It was a great opportunity to prolong the celebration!

Priceless as always. You are so gifted!
Pictures came out lovely as always!
Laura, words cannot express how thrilled we were to have you there to capture our wedding day. The photos are more than amazing and will always bring us back to that day. Steve and I were so psyched that you were there to hang out with us all late-night too! That was so much fun! We would love to be able to get together with you next time we're in Georgia! Thank you for everything!! =)
