With the height of wedding season right around the corner, engaged couples are buzzing about the big and small details of their events. It's a great time to take a look at last year's events for inspiration. Gina and Chris's wedding in August was a full weekend retreat for their closest family and friends at Children's Harbor, Lake Martin AL. I've been taking pictures for Gina's extended family since 2004, documenting several weddings and babies being welcomed into the family. By now they all feel like friends! That atmosphere of friendship and familiarity was characteristic of the spirit Gina and Chris wanted everyone to enjoy throughout the weekend.
Chris enjoyed the water while Gina got glamorous.
One of my absolute favorite photos from last year, Chris dips his head to avoid seeing Gina.
Another favorite as the ladies approach the chapel to be greeted by Gina's dad.
With this ring...
After the ceremony Chris teases Gina, I love capturing moments like this because they are genuine, fleeting, and impossible to reproduce.
How many lighthouses are there in AL? Could this be the only one?
I also love including water in images, it's an obvious choice at the lake but beyond that I see it as a beautiful symbol of life, journeys, and renewal.
Hello, I love you, won't you tell me your name?
Gorgeous reception details and dancing.
The bride and groom stole away to change clothes then dance the night away. As I followed them to their cabin, I listened to their enthusiastic about how they wanted everyone to dance experience a sense of togetherness.
The next morning was a country breakfast where Gina and Chris thanked everyone for celebrating with them.
Exit by jet ski!
