There are some things we see that stick with us forever. Miranda July's movie Me and You and Everyone We Know is one of my forever things. In a review, A.O. Scott of The New York Times describes the film as a "wide-eyed, quizzical approach to the world... almost naive." I never thought of it that way, probably because I was too busy thinking about how much I love the film, but it's simplicity is deeply touching. Miranda wrote, directed, and starred in Me and You. The scene I've posted below shows a particular kind of vulnerability, certainly a universal human emotion, and a tentative romantic hope.
